Ms. Collins has been an absolutely incredible tutor for me and others, constantly engaging
her students in learning with her interactive style. When my sessions with her first began I
was lacking motivation and needed a confidence boost to be able to get back on route with
my learning. Not only did Ms. Collins provide brilliant materials for myself and others in our
topic folders, created by herself, she also allowed us opportunities in sessions where we
could discuss our ideas with one another and interact with each other through activities.
These included creating our own timelines, presenting aspects of specific topics through
presentations and drawings, rememberable mnemonics and physical movement to ensure
we stay focused after a long day of sitting down learning at school. Initially I struggled in
History being able to keep my facts precise and relevant to the time frame I was being asked about
in a specific question alongside many other factors limiting my ability to achieve higher grades in History.
Ms Collins' tutoring session enabled me to see what areas I needed to improve in, enabling me to go from achieving a
grade 4 in my History mock exam in November 2022 to a grade 8 in the real GCSE (2023). I had struggled a lot in
previous years of school, trying to find motive to work for my exams and engage myself in
learning, yet after starting Ms. Collins’ sessions I not only regained my love for History, but
noticed myself putting far more effort into all of my studies and realised I had begun to enjoy
learning again. I enjoyed learning with Ms. Collins so much that I am now planning to take
History A-Level, which had not occurred to me before starting my sessions with her.

My daughter really struggled in year 10. Following the lockdowns and her own separate health
problems, she had lost a lot of confidence and her motivation was low.
She started tutoring with Ms Collins in the autumn term of year 11, and by Christmas the change
was apparent for all to see: her love of learning had returned. This was not only in relation to
History, but also with other subjects too. My recently withdrawn and disengaged child was now
much stronger and more in control, academically and psychologically. For this I cannot thank Ms
Collins enough, as she has made a huge difference to the final GCSE year for all of us.
The turn around was so great that I would have happily paid far more than Ms Collins’ very
reasonable rates, and I say that as someone who is not especially wealthy. I also was never
particularly in favour of tutoring, but the chance to work in a smaller group and with an immensely
engaged and engaging teacher has made all the difference in the world to my daughter. Thank you
so much.

Easily, the best History preparation I could have hoped to provide my son. George has provided far more than just expert GCSE tuition in History. She conducts the lessons individually or in small groups, in a family environment, taking care to carefully match the sets, making sure everyone is comfortable and properly attended to. She nurtured his confidence and writing enterprise and supported him, literally, till the very evening of every single exam. His predictions went into the 9s but more importantly HE LEARNT AND ENJOYED THE SUBJECT!!! Now he wants to do History in A - Levels! And if so, he will do it again with George.
Many thanks, Luciana (Parent Year 11)
While our son had an interest in History, we found his enthusiasm was waning and he was finding it a bit of a chore covering the lengthy GCSE syllabus at times. While he was reluctant to attend a session initially, George’s group sessions were an instant hit - she is a very energetic and dynamic person and her approach to active learning and discussion-led learning breathed life and enthusiasm back into his interest in the subject. Due to her proven track record as a very experienced senior teacher we had total faith in her approach and felt in excellent hands. Our son looked forward to the sessions, gained confidence in his knowledge and even made some new friends! We very much hope to continue with A level sessions too - I know our son wants to! Thank you so much George!”

My daughter was tutored by Georgie in Year 11 for IGCSE history- what an amazing experience!!!Georgie’s passion for history is contagious and she makes learning about history fun and exciting! Her knowledge is incredible and she went out of her way to understand all the requirements and materials needed for the IGCSE curriculum (as in the past she has mainly done other exam boards). She prepared tailored folders for my daughter in each of her topics with sample questions, detailed background information and timelines. She looked at the areas my daughter needed to improve eg time management, structuring and provision of evidence, and gave her lots of advice on how to improve in these areas. Georgie gave her lots of sample exam questions and often went over the tutor session time to give her detailed feedback. My daughter’s confidence with her abilities in history grew dramatically as Georgie radiates constant encouragement, positivity and support! In the end my daughter received a 9 in her IGCSE exam- a true reflection of Georgie’s dedicated work with her for over one year!

George's lessons were brilliant and really helped me through history, making it really fun and engaging.
Sam Law (Student Year 11)
Great lessons and really fun. George made it much more interesting and helped me remember stuff. Also made some new friends which was an added bonus!
James Law (Student year 11)
I cannot recommend George and her tutoring highly enough. Not only does she ensure she covers all the relevant content but ensures that it is delivered in an engaging way that ensured my boys always wanted to go. Her way of teaching helped my boys grasp previously difficult topic areas and their recall of events improved significantly. Importantly, she focussed on structure and handy strategies to help them write good quality essays. If you need a History tutor, you need look no further.
Nora Law (Parent Year 11)
George’s lessons were amazing! She made learning fun and dynamic, with songs, rhymes and interactive learning techniques that really helped me to remember key facts and information. I felt fully prepared for my GCSE history exams and actually enjoyed them! Thank you.
Clara (Student Year 11)
I found that Georgie’s lessons were incredibly good. They allowed me to develop a good understanding of history and the different topics I had to learn. She made the lessons fun and interesting.

“George has provided group study sessions in History for my teenagers, which they said helped “A
LOT”! The small group setting was fun and interactive, and it was more cost effective than a one-to-
one tutor. My kids have really enjoyed going to their sessions, and asked for more to help them
revise for their exams. George is very engaging and encouraging, used games and play to make sure
key points were remembered, and shared tips and techniques which really helped boost their
grades! I couldn’t recommend Collins Tutorials more. I wish we had the same for other topics!”

She turned my grade 4s into grade 9s. Learning with Georgie is fun and helpful, I never cease to
enjoy her teaching, and it makes me feel more confident in my History. It’s great because I have fun,
I learn how to answer the questions and Georgie gives me the skills and knowledge to do well.

The History lessons are great. 10/10. They helped me excel in my mocks and I’ll use them to get the
highest scores in my GCSEs.
